Thinking Differently
I was tagged by my sister Mary over at Happenings Today to think differently. Oh well I have been thinking long and hard about what to think different about. I have been down in the dumps lately for no good reason at all but here goes. Donald just started a new job January 2 and he has been leaving the house at 530 in the morning and not returning until after 7 at night. The way I have been thinking is "woe is me". It is a long day with three kids 5, 3 and 1. Blah, blah, blah! To think differnt I am thinking it must be tough on him not to see the kids during the week. Those are long days for him. I sure wouldn't want to be leaving in the dark and coming home in the dark. The kids miss him too. I am thinking I must stop feeling bad for myself and be the rock. Have more patience for the kids and be more supportive for Donald! I need to not sweat the small stuff and cherrish the time we have together as a family! Here goes!!!

What a great thing to think differently about! I must admit that I am guilty of this exact thing, and I rarely stop to think how my husband feels about having to spend so much time away from me and the kids (though I know for a fact that there are some days that the alarm clock can't go off soon enough for him!) Keep us posted on how it goes!
Just in case I didn't say it when I posted before, I found you through both Mary and Amy. Surprising, huh :)...
What a great thing to think differently about--everybody wins. I really liked this "tag"--it was interesting to think of all of the things I could choose to think differently about. Your kids are so darn cute, I'll bet your husband really misses them, and you, when he's putting in those long days.
You can do it!!!
better times are ahead!
i'm sleeping with the bear tonight! oh that didn't sound good. abby's bear, that she accidentally left here. i promised i would take good care of him tonight!
Whenever I whine to John about how badly I wish I didn't have to work and could stay home.........he says the same thing right back at me! And tonight when he called from Costa Rica.......it was all about Thomas! I think it is hard for them to be away.
OMG... we do have kids the same age.
Having a husband away from home all day long is pretty hard. I agree. I like how you thought differently. :)
Well - you did good!! That is certainly the way to turn a potentially negative situation and see it from another angle - good for you and good luck - I know it must be hard. Thanks for coming by - see you soon. Kellan
Oh sweetie this is a tough one! Kudos to you for thinking differently and trying to see things from your husband's perspective! I know I certainly wouldn't relish getting up at 5:30 am to start my day - that time is reserved for getting up in the "middle of the night" to feed a baby a bottle!
Don't worry, these times will pass, and hubby will settle into his new job and hopefully be able to pare back his hours to a more reasonable schedule soon.
You're doing a wonderful job and your kids are so beautiful! Cheers to you!
Tom Brady is YOUR boyfriend? Does Giselle know this?
Can you get me a lock of his hair and maybe a used jockstrap?

This is a good one. I try to stay positive about my Hubby's long hours (hence the blogging) it is really hard sometimes when you are in preschool land all day and wiping poopy butts on potty training kiddos and baby. Keep some time for the two of ya- it makes it so much easier to get through the day if you have that time to talk and find out what the others day was like. I know I am more sympathetic to my Hubby when I know his day wasn't all peachy. Good luck!
Oh and I am a bit slow- but I just recently figured out you and all your sisters, looking back all I can say is duh!! Things are much clearer now- no wonder you all know each other so well! It must be so much fun to be so close and all have children. My two sisters both live away.
Ugghh. My husband did that for years...you are great to see a way to think differently so early in the game. It is hard on everyone.
Oh, you aren't alone feeling that way, I promise!!
I need to think differently about that stuff too!
I also need to do this meme. I got tagged for it forever ago and I still haven't been able to think of something unlame. You thought of a great one!
