I LOVE YOU. . .

Tonight I let Charlie stay up a little later than usual. Donald was working late and Abby and William were completely exhausted from playing outside. Sometimes it is nice to sneak in some alone time with each of the kids. I took this as the perfect opportunity to have some time with Charlie. He was happy to sit up and watch some Scooby-Doo. When the second episode came on he asked if he could stay up even longer to watch it. I said, "Sure". He said, "Thanks Mom". Then came Eddie Haskel out of no where! He said, "Mom, I love you so much. I love you almost as much as those Spider Man shirts you got me for my birthday." Well being his mother, I know how much he loves those shirts. Never did I think that being loved almost as much as a couple of shirts would be so good. I wonder if he will ever know how much I love him?!

He'll know . . . one day when he has his OWN kids!

Ya know what, Lisa? I think he already knows. I mean, this is Charlie we're talking about. Now, granted...I don't know Charlie. But from what you've written about him and with his nice smile and all, I just think Charlie is a boy who not only knows, but also wants you to know how much he loves you. There are some kids that just LOOK kind, and Charlie is one of them. I'm GLAD you let him stay up a little late to watch Scooby and have a little alone time with you. Those are precious moments! :)

What a wonderful time! It's so important to have special memories with each of your kids and to give them special time with just you. And that opens them up to sharing their feelings like your sweet sweet boy did tonight! You are truly blessed.

I just love him!
I love how he thinks Wednesdays are "our thing." He told me one of his favorite things is when I drive him home on Wednesdays. Out of the blue he told me that! He sure does have his own way of making ya feel loved:)

What an amazing little boy!

(If I have your e-mail address, I can't find it, so I will put this here: Thank you so much for all of your kind words, thoughts, and prayers in the last couple of weeks. I have read through my comments at least a dozen times, and continue to be astounded by the love and support that has been given to my family. You are an angel!

Lisa, I just came by to wish you a happy week--and then I read Mary's comment. Oh Lisa!!! See, that is exactly what I have in my mind as the way Charlie "is." Kind of like what I had in mind for the way William Baby "is." Ya know? I hope Charlie never loses his kind, sensitive spirit; it is so apparent in his eyes that he has that heart-melting gentleness about him! You are a lucky Mom, I think...and they are lucky kids, too :)!

I love him! Those times are the best - some time you have to break the rules. He will remember these moments. =)

kim-d said...

Hey Lisa!!! I just stopped by to leave you my weekly hello, and I notice that, although none of your fans have exerted any peer pressure for you to do a post, a certain Amy JEAN Kelly is exerting SIBLING PRESSURE. I'm thinkin', Lisa, maybe you should just bow to the SIBLING PRESSURE...BWAHAHAHA!

kim-d said...

Well, apparently SIBLING PRESSURE doesn't do the trick, but I want you to know that, really, I am not here to pressure you AT ALL. It's just not how I roll. But do ya suppose we could get a couple of pix of the kids before they head off to college? BWAHAHAHAHA...
